2024 Annual General Meeting

The annual reports and accounts were presented and accepted.

 

The motions submitted prior to the AGM were voted on with some amendments agreed on the day. The following changes are now in effect:

 

Society Constitution

Section 11 was updated.  The following new policies will be written

 

The draft policies will be shared in January 2025, where there will be an opportunity to share any feedback before the policies come into effect.

 

Site rules

13 - Vehicles on site - this section has been changed and states that Permissions and restrictions on the use of vehicles are set out in the parking policy.

18.- Structures - this sections now states that decision will be made by considering the society's structures policy

24 - Materials on site - this is a new rule that confirms restrictions on asbestos and introduces a ban on using carpets on site

Nominations

All positions were filled.  It was agreed that Adam Simpson-Davies continues in the role as secretary, but on a non-voting basis as two people from the same plot cannot have two votes on the committee.

Pre AGM Content

We are delighted to invite all members to our Annual General Meeting (AGM). 

This meeting is an opportunity for us to come together, reflect on the past year, and plan for the future of Lister Drive Allotments.

Nominations for the Allotment Committee

The society is run by committee of up to 12 volunteers including a Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and 9 non-executive committee members. Members are appointed each year at the association's AGM.

Anyone who has been a member for more than 3 months can stand for election. If you would like to stand for any of the committee positions, please send your name, plot number and the position(s) you wish to stand for to contact@listerdriveallotments.com by Sunday, 8 September.

In the event that multiple nominations are received for a position, at the AGM, we will ask nominees to say a few words about why they would like to stand for election and a vote will be taken.

You can submit a motion to amend the site rules or constitution by Sunday, 8 September. To help members understand your suggestion you should:

Voting at the AGM

All plots are entitled to 1 vote, usually by the named plot holder. An associate member may vote on behalf of the plot holder.
